Bob LeeMuch of work is about loss, absence, emptiness and the transience of time.
I am interested in the anxieties and fears that surround our perception of these ideas.
I gain a lot of my inspiration from myths and fables and how these stories very much relate to fears of the unknown and to our collective archetypes and unconscious.
I have recently completed a commission for a short animation funded by CHANNEL 4 together with Northern Film and Media, ONE North-East and the UK Film Council. The project has pushed my vision, craft and clarified where I want to develop my practice. The film has recently been screened at the encounters short film festival in Bristol and is due to be screened at the Animex animation festival in Middlesbrough. There will also be an exhibition of the puppets and sets at the festival.
I am now beginning to develop ideas using pinhole cameras and work inspired by the northern landscape.
