In 1995 she awarded a Rome Scholarship to the British School in Rome, and in 1996 a Susan Kasen Summers Studio Award, Connecticut USA.
She has participated in numerous group exhibitions, including The Craft, Metropole Galleries, Folkestone (2006) and Transition Gallery, London (2007), Painted Ladies at the Surgery, London (2007), and the Jerwood Drawing Prize, Jerwood Space, London. Solo shows include I?ll Be Your Mirror, Transition Gallery, London (2005), Smooth Operators and Material Girls, The Womens Library, London (2005), and Emma Talbot In Translation, Quay Arts, Isle of Wight (2006-7). She was guest editor of Garageland, 4, 2007: 'Painting and Translating'. She has works in the collections of the City of Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, J. Sainsbury PLC, Unilever and the Ministry of Heritage, Abu Dhabi Bank, amongst others. Emma Talbot lives and works in London.
