An insight into the work of practicing Artists teaching at Northumbria University
This exhibition offers an insight into the work of the Artists that teach into the Fine Art programmes at Northumbria University. All of the academic staff are working artists and Northumbria is fortunate to offer students not only excellence in teaching from an enthusiastic and wide range of artists but also excellence in Fine Art research.
The majority of the artists exhibit internationally and the breadth of fine art media on show represents the richness and diversity of their practice. Many of the artists are well established in the North East and have exhibited widely whilst others have only recently moved, or returned to the area, and the exhibition is the first showing of their work in the North East.
Two of the exhibiting artists, Joanne Tatham and Tom O'Sullivan, have recently been shortlisted for the Northern Art Prize.
Gallery North is host to the Contemporary Art Society on the evening of the 6 November. Members of CAS will have the opportunity to meet some of the artists whose work is on show.
Exhibiting artists include: Gilbert Ward, Sue Spark, Dan Holdsworth, Joanne Tatham and Tom O'Sullivan, Fiona Crisp, Angela Hughes, Sian Bowen, Sharron Lea, Sunghoon Son, Helen Baker, Chris Dorsett, Keith McIntyre, Brian Stokoe, Charles Danby, Allan Hughes, Ginny Reed, Craig Richardson and David Campbell.
The Exhibition will take place at Gallery North, Northumbria University, from 26 October - 16 November 2012.
